What We Believe

God is exactly who He says He is! That, and He has authored a plan of salvation in order to redeem His fallen creation. Thus, the ultimate expression of God's unconditional love for all of humanity is realized only in Jesus, the Son of God.

At the fundamental core of our beliefs is this one profound truth:  there is but one true and living God!  He is eternal and simultaneously exists in one essence, yet in three co-equal persons.  We therefore commonly refer to God as a Trinity, or triune being, consisting of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe that God is the creator of all things.

We believe that mankind was created in the image of God, but rebelled against God and thereby invited not only mankind’s physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God. As such, all of humanity is born with a sinful and rebellious nature and is therefore doomed to remain eternally separated from its Creator.

We believe that God authored a plan of salvation in order to redeem His fallen creation and, in fulfillment of same, sent His son, Jesus, to earth to pay the full penalty of all humanity’s sins. We thus believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God; that He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin.

We believe that Jesus lived and demonstrated His deity through numerous miracles. We also believe that He was crucified, buried and resurrected from death three days later. We believe Jesus then appeared in the flesh to His disciples and to many others before ascending into Heaven and taking His seat upon a throne at the right hand of God.

Having died for the sins of the world as our very own personal substitute, we believe that anyone who calls upon the name of Jesus, and believes that God raised Jesus from the dead, shall be justified or “saved” from his or her sins. This belief is commonly referred to as imputed righteousness, which simply means salvation from sin, and its consequences, is available to all who accept Christ’s sacrifice. Accordingly, all who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are “born again” and thereby become children of God and heirs of eternal life with Christ. Sadly, the reverse is also true: all those who reject Jesus Christ shall perish and be eternally damned.

We believe that all scripture is divinely inspired and serves as the final authority in all matters pertaining to our beliefs and behavior. We thus believe that the Holy Bible in its entirety is the infallible, inspired Word of God and, to us, the final arbiter of our faith and conduct.

We believe in sanctification through the Word of God and through the power of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives. Among many other things, the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, who empowers Christians to live a life that brings glory to God and that measures up to the example set by Christ. We also believe that there are different kinds of spiritual gifts which are bestowed by the Holy Spirit upon Christians in the service of the Lord and for the good and profit of all.

We believe in water baptism, a most profound symbol of the Christian’s decision to walk in the newness of life found in Christ.

We believe in remembering the Lord’s death through the worshipful act of Communion. We believe in the personal, visible and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Lastly, we believe that, individually and collectively, we have been created by God to worship Him. Therefore, chief among the purposes of this ministry is our aim to glorify God, which we shall do in our public worship services and prayer meetings; with our Biblical teaching and preaching of the Holy Scriptures; by our evangelistic and missionary endeavors; and through the witness of our devout lifestyles.
